Managing Mistletoe (and horses)

I recently visited an old cider orchard not far from us,  just outside Taunton. I was told that something needed to be done with the mistletoe, which was apparently running rampant through the apple trees. Upon my arrival it was clear the owners weren’t exaggerating; the orchard was swamped with mistletoe (although the herd of twenty horses weren’t doing the trees any favours either…).
